Uttertomb - "Nebulas Of Self-Desecration"
Release Date: April 19th, 2024
Pulverised Records
Filthy and ominous, Uttertomb create a sound on "Nebulas Of Self-Desecration" that caters to those who enjoy their death metal murky and obscene. Forty-three minutes and eight tracks of monstrous, overwhelming putrid smelling gloom. All this is meant with admiration and respect given the sound they have successfully achieved. Uttertomb are a Chilean band that incorporates elements of both death and doom metal. Every track moves between speed and ruinous sludgy ideas. The guitar tone on "Nebulas Of Self-Desecration" complements their desired direction well. It is immensely foul in its sound and attack. Uttertomb formed in 2009 playing a genre self-described as "necrological death metal". Song titles such as "Exhumation Of The Womb's Splendour" and "Ominous Flesh Relinquishment" do an excellent job of setting the mood for what this album has in store for the listener. This is death metal inspired by those shadowy chambers residing in our subconscious. Darkened by a somber internal overcast of unhealthy mood altering notes, Uttertomb created an excellent and enjoyable album.
