Sentiment Dissolve - The Orwellian Dream
Release Date: May 24th, 2024
CDN Records
Sentiment Dissolve is a compelling Canadian tech-death metal band. On "The Orwellian Dream" they take a genre that has grown a bit stagnant for me and infused some flavor. There is enough instrument acrobatics to appeal to the genre's fans yet a catchy charm for people such as myself. I enjoy that there is enough room left throughout the tracks for the music to breathe and develop. Their press release states that they drew inspiration through both past tech-metal and modern. I can hear classic sounds throughout which is perhaps why I can be drawn to it. I am happy that current bands can find value in the older bands that started it all. My favorite track on this release is "The Orwellian Dream". What initially caught my interest is the bassist that served his rhythmic purpose yet possessed a melodic flair as well.
Sentiment Dissolve grew out of other bands such as Aepoch, Kavara and Hell is Other People. Most likely due to their previous endeavors, interest grew in the band among fans and they played with many prestigious local and international bands. Topics written about on "The Orwellian Dream" include such ideas as, "surrealism, dystopia and transcendence." I can see a bright future for Sentiment Dissolve. Go and support them!
