NUCTEMERON - Demonic Sceptre
Release Date: March 13th, 2026
I Hate Records
Nuctemeron is a German black/speed metal band that will release their debut album, "Demonic Sceptre" this coming Friday, March 13th.
The band has been in existence for 12 years already and has previously released many splits and e.p.s. The band prides themselves in a diverse attention to detail while still retaining an old-school sound.
"Fresh From The 13th Coffin" sets the dark tone for the album with ominous soundscapes layered with hollowed winds. The second track, "The Bat" builds from the start to a energized explosion of furious fire. Vintage speed metal reminiscent of the 80's classics are obviously present. Relentlessly bombarding the listener with excited violence. "After Violent Storm" continues the assault without giving the victim time to breathe. A continuous whirlwind of chaotic musical fury punishes while an escape seems impossible. Blasphemous intentions are carved out with, "Under Devil's Command". Painting the the ground red with sacrificial remnants, flesh is carved and offered for demonic appeasement. Abrasive, yet catchy, the song screams of past leather clad minions descending on the concert stage in electrified chaos. Spewing anger, the title "Fuck Off (In The Name Of Evil) describes the song accurately in a maddening attack. Without yielding, the pandemonium continues with a definite crowd favorite. I can imagine those in attendance chanting along with the chorus. "Burn my Skin To Leather" commands exhilaration with blackened disarray. Caustic in identity, the song is a punishing barrage of metallic rage. Next, "Rape From The Grave" has a melodic introduction that then detonates angrily. Fueled by a fierce netherworld onslaught, the land is scoured offensively in search of targets to maim.
"Metallic Thunder" spews forth a harsh raid of retro metal. Bare in its old-school glory and no-frills musical ambush. Screaming madly within a twisting array of deafening disorder. The second to last song, "Brandish The Hammer Of Hell" is a volcanic burst of destructive force. An anguished warlike power that commands submission. The song even possesses a sung part that brings to mind hoards of warriors descending on their target with bloodlust. The albums ends with a bonus track cover of Venom's "Angel Dust". A fitting addition I believe to an album that retains its classic sound confidently throughout. An album worthy of your support.
