Nasty Savage - Jeopardy Room
Release Date: October 10th, 2024
FHM Records
Nasty Savage is a name I've seen around but haven't listened to much until now. They got their start in 1983 and have been active on and off since then. It is stated that this band had an important influence on the early days of the Florida death metal scene. This current stretch of activity started again in 2016. "Jeopardy Room" is an obvious example of a band that has its roots originating in the early days of thrash. There is an authentic rawness present that screams classic thrash metal. Nasty Savage has a catchy charm to their material on "Jeopardy Room" as well. All the elements present in their sound are skillfully constructed to achieve an active and intense sound. I was instantly drawn to the guitars with their crisp and interesting delivery. As a special treat John and Donald Tardy from Obituary make an appearance on the song, "Witches Sabbath". Nasty Savage achieved cult status early on and they still carry themselves confidently 40 years later. If you are a fan of thrash metal I'm sure you know these guys already. If you are new to the genre, this band is a great place to start. Support it.
