Nadsvest - Slovo Meseca I Krvi
Release Date: 5/17/2024
Soulseller Records
Nadsvest is a black metal band featuring members from two black metal bands that everyone should be at least somewhat familiar with, Gorgoroth and Barshesketh. "Slovo Meseca I Krvi" is their debut full length after an e.p., "Kolo ognja i železa" and a split with Necrobode in 2021. "Slovo Meseca I Krvi" is a poem pertaining to the "stages in the process of awakening the primal werewolf force in the warrior, the triumph of the spirit and the ultimate sacrifice of the flesh." as stated in their press release. This album has a definite raw quality to it. Not so much in the sense of basement black metal acts, but one that retains solid production. The songs on this album are quick to supply unlit purpose and success in their wicked objectives. I find myself enthralled by Nadsvest's ability to construct this quality release with such blackened conviction as they have. Slovo Meseca I Krvi has the necessary character to keep me interested from one idea to the next. It is tastefully bitter and diversified. Occasional un-distorted guitars and a subtle backdrop of layering keyboards supply a truly sinister feel to Nadsvest's sound. intermittent melodic ideas are present in relation to their more aggressive counterparts and finished with a varied vocal approach. Nadsvest have succeeded in their debut full length and I hope to hear more from them in the future. Go buy, stream, and support them.
