Jade - Mysteries Of A Flowery Dream
Release Date: May 9th, 2025
Pulverised Records

I first became familiar with Jade through my never fully quenched search for new music. The initial album that I heard from them was, "The Pacification Of Death". This album left a positive impression on me because of its unique extreme metal style among others in my vast collection. We also reviewed their split album here on Exquisite Death in the fall of 2024. Jade has a distinctive sound that transcends many extreme metal genres. On "Mysteries Of A Flowery Dream" they cultivate an interesting meld of black metal and perhaps subtle death metal and doom metal undertones. All their ideas here are marvelously integrated with class in a blistering and intelligently delivered mass of metallic greatness. Their second full length album is a thought-provoking creation of transcendental auditory excellence. "Mysteries Of A Flowery Dream" balances well between a dense sonic sea of extremities and precisely placed melodic attributions. For sure, this is a band for metal fans who enjoy intelligently created music. The bassist/vocalist J describes Jade as, "atmospheric death metal". I can attest to this fitting label for the band.
The band's name, Jade, is a rare earth mineral that is the connecting point in many cultures between our earthly plane and the unknown. Lyrically, J finds inspirations from many, "traditions, legends and cults". He also applies a, "historical narrative" to what he chooses to write about. On this album he tackles ideas of enduring menacing periods and the deeper revelations of dreams. Throughout this album there is deeper aspirations that Jade hopes to convey musically and inspirationally. As I said before, "Mysteries Of A Flowery Dream" is an intellectual experience for those that dig deeper into their musical enjoyments.
