Hemotoxin - When Time Becomes Loss
Release Date: May 17th, 2024
Pulverised Records
Hemotoxin are an example for me of accessible progressive metal. They are obviously talented in their abilities but they do not lose substance in the name of showmanship. "When Time Becomes Loss" has a wonderful old school death/thrash metal vibe to the production and delivery. On their fourth album now, Hemotoxin have been able to cultivate an exciting display of metal. Each song on this release carries well into the next and doesn't sacrifice the overall quality. There is just enough progressive elements present to retain the label, but more importantly the integrity of the album remains constant. This release should readily supply enough progressive thrash and death metal components for fans of those genres to indulge adequately. Hemotoxin is the output of main guy, Michael Anthony Chavez. On this album he has the help of
Scott Fuller (Annihilated, ex-Morbid Angel, ex-Havok, etc) on drums. We should rejoice that such exhilarating albums such as this exist. It supply's a fresh coat of red paint to a sometimes stagnant sea of metal.
