GHÖRNT - Bluetgraf
Release Date: April 11th, 2025
Soulseller Records
GHÖRNT are a vicious Swiss black metal entity producing cold, yet melodic music. Existing within a realm of cruelty and frigid hate, they craft an atrocious take on modern black metal. Amongst a prevailing musical landscape of melodic guitar work resides a merciless brutality. Perhaps amongst that obvious black metal sound there even lives some melodic death metal and thrash influences sporadically placed throughout. Producing music very much in the "new school" vein, they retain some elements of the late 1990's, early 2000's sounds as well. "Bluetgraf" is well produced and a nod to the musical choices that the genre took overall during this time and since. GHÖRNT have plenty of hooks, layered guitars, and a modern flair that will keep us non-purists throughly engaged. This is very much an album that will stand confidently with its counterparts.
GHÖRNT got their start in 2020 and with the soon to be released, Bluetgraf, they will be on album number three. The band consists of two members: Thulus on vocals and J. on guitars, bass and drums. They chose to create an album around different stories of vampires. Among the songs, the "Vlad Tepes" and local legends of vampiric lore help create the album they set out to produce. I enjoy this album enough to go and check out their previoius releases. Support them!
