Fäust - Crypts of Eternity
Release Date: November 7th, 2025
Black Lion Records

Fäust is a French based one-man melodic black metal entity from multi-instrumentalist, Michaël Hellström. "Crypts Of Eternity" is his second full length album following the initial release, "Death from Beyond" in 2022. The album was recorded and mixed by Michaël at Soulreaper Studio and mastered by Ronnie Bjornström at Bjornström Sound Studio.

After the short initial introduction of "
In Tenebris" that sets an ominous tone for the album, "To The Fire, To The Death" begins. Blazing across darkened skies, there is a malevolent entity blatantly targeting the wholesome with ferocious black metal. Embodying Scandinavian sounds from the past, the song carries the flame of melodic evilness from the 1990s. "Night Terror" digs in further with deadly accuracy. Premeditated and unforgiving in its metallic might. Speed and a forceful pace define Fäust's stance among the world caving in all around the music's vicious attack. Striving for memorability, the title track "Crypts Of Eternity" channels a melodious trait that threatens the soulless at risk of hellfire. Catchy and akin to everything gloriously wicked from the decade they embrace. "And Then Blows The Funeral Winds" howls with a wintery chill. Providing a menacing soundtrack to the apocalypse, this song can be heard accompanying the fierce winds cascading down forbidding mountainsides. Further escalating the bleak ambush, "In a Ghastly Silence" charges forward into the unsuspecting valleys below. Musically assaulting the righteous and laying waste to hope. Unrelenting and poised to challenge the last aspirations of relief from the trials of life. "Sorcery" is the last track on "Crypts Of Eternity". After the final deeds are done, the force of Fäust beholds all the effects of malicious intent. Prideful in his furious exhibition for all to regard in awe. Deliberate in his focused appreciation for the glory days of classic melodic black metal,
Fäust is both a celebration of and a wonderful addition to the genre.
