Dekadent - Dionyst
Release Date: May 30th, 2024
Dusktone
"Dionyst" is quite the listen. Beyond the obvious black metal influences there resides a deeper personality to their music. It comes on beautifully and violently with stunning emotive precision. It's not too often I come across a band that is both clever and aggressive to this level.
Throughout "Dionyst" there resides a soulful persuasion demanding attention. Im drawn to the subtle complexities of their creations bringing an intimidating display of blackened ferociousness. Dekadent is a reminder about rich musical existences that are there if you dig deep enough. There is enough melodic belligerence to keep any modern black metal fan captivated. A wonderful combination of enchanting subtleties and fearful hostility is abundant on this album. Dekadent got their start in 2005 and through numerous releases they have earned a respected place in their genre. My previous encounter with them was their 2015 album, "Veritas", which I enjoyed. This band deserves your attention, so give them some.
