Dead Head - "Shadow Soul"
Release Date: March 29th, 2024
Hammerheart Records
Dead Head reeks of their age in a good way. Putrid thrash that has been festering for the 35 years they have existed. Slight tinges of death
metal reside among the obvious influence of thrash metal's glory days they were founded in. Hostile riffs coincide with aggressive speed
to create a ferocious offering to fuel front-row pit creators. This is their first release since 2022's full length "Slave Driver". "Shadow Soul" is a well fortified beast of a release that doesn't compromise brutality for mainstream pop esthetics. They have managed to fashion a sound all their own over the past three decades that doesn't stray too far from the blueprints of the genre on this release. Dead Head strives to make a stance by driving a bloody musical spear into the heart of thrash metal. 35 years is along time to be a band. This Dutch band deserves to be standing among the genre's greats that they can consider their contemporaries. Not a single negative thing to say about this album. Check it out.
