Crobu - More Than This
Release Date: May 23rd, 2026
Self-Released

Coming from Sardinia, Italy is a new stoner rock band Crobu that will be releasing their debut album, "More Than This" on May 23rd. The band was originally started by their guitarist Andrea and was then joined by the remaining members, Federico (Vocals), Alessandro (Drums), and
Lorenzo (Bass). Influences the band lists include, Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Down, and Corrosion of Conformity among others.

The title track, "More Than This" starts the listener's surreal journey. Slow moving hazy guitars begin with the mandatory warm tone of the genre and are eventually carried by a strong vocalist and a fluid rhythm section. Moving smoothly from mountainous, crushing ideas to an increased urgency, the song's varied approach is both engaging and thrilling. "Crows" opens up their sound with a faster tempo. Pulling the listener in with not so much an "attack" but an excited delivery. Each part of the song stands grounded in a self-assured, thickly manufactured experience. Graceful yet forceful, Crobu understands songwriting with soul. For a change, "Awake" has a chilled out vibe to start. Evolving eventually into a distorted but relaxing feel. The beginning of the song is mildly bluesy as the genre mostly requires. Further into the track things pick up back into a spirited approach. Next, "The Bleed" solidifies Crobu on their path into stoner music's desert landscapes. Venturing out onto the sun-beaten sands with mid-paced musical accompaniment.  Fuzzed out and driving with the essence of rock at its core, Crobu creates the music they sought with power and confidence. "Violet" grips the listener in a world of blazing heat and full throttle force. The song's dynamic movements can transport a person with sludge-like tones and enough grit to strip surfaces smooth. Despite the song title, "Full Speed Ahead" has another cool beginning that eases the listener into the eventual clutches of lively desert-rock. Still heavy, but upbeat in its character. Twisting one's mental state with relaxed states and energized tension. "Even Worse" keeps the band's vibrant sound mobile. Pulsating with vigorousness and soulful animation. About half-way through a reprieve is granted to allow a trance-like state to build. Captivating in its construction, its a brilliant way to let the song end. The album ends with, "I Am The Leaf". I love the way the song starts. Mesmerizing as a whole, the track is rich with a profound disposition. It is definitely a prime example of the wonderful sounds the genre can offer. Bending moods with each curve of musical maneuvering, its an exciting trip to experience.
