BELIALED - The Echoless Chasm
Release Date: May 29th, 2026 (cd version)
independent/ Trollzorn Records
Started in 2021, Belialed set out to create black metal with melodious traits. They want to captivate the listener through creating an engaging emotional listen rooted in atmosphere and strength. Their debut album, "Beyond Resigned" was independently released in 2023. The band believes "The Echoless Chasm" is further development for the band. Taking attributes present on the initial release, Belialed crafted a refined version of themselves.
A haunting melody begins the listener's transcendence into the withered entity of "Monolith". Poised to attack with a subtly aggressive feel, the song is characterized more through darkened chambers of solitude than pure black metal fury. Speed is present, but the back drop of dreariness never leaves. During the bridge the song drops off into expansive chasms and eventually returns to melodious enchantments. "Poised Mirror" has a malevolent feel at the start. After capturing enough deep seeded vileness, inner wickedness is transposed into blackened auditory revelations. Soulful and cold in all the right ways. Next, "Invoke The Elements" builds out of a corrupt void. Rage filled but never losing the essence of the sound they confidently encapsulate. Melody intertwines with cleverly crafted forcefulness to suite blasphemous attacks while retaining memorability. "The River Carries Her Essence" combines a smooth feel with vengeful nuances. Overall the song is mid-paced with occasional outbursts of speedier guitar parts. Overlapping each other with separate melodies that are unified into a nefarious display of black metal expertise. Starting with a clean somber sound, "The Echoless Chasm" then hits hard as it cut into faster parts. These blend with many different ideas with bleak moods that combine into the greater mysterious whole. Though this can be said for the entire album, its definitely a trip worth taking on this track. "Only Embers Remain" launches with a wall of distorted sound. Trapping the listener in its emboldened grasp. Providing an immersive experience within its desolation coupled with frigidly inspired superiority. The second to last track, "Haunted Ruins" represents turmoil accompanied by barren melodies. Perhaps majestically calling one to the vacuum of nothingness at the center of human depravity. All the while willfully residing in the ingenious of this musical exceptionalism. Lastly, "Domenwald" ends the album with a slight ferociousness. Still cunning though with its bold representations of differing emotional states. A capstone to "The Echoless Chasm" and all its movement from depressive rage to grimly slower attributes. An album that is meant to be attentive to and is not back-ground noise. You may miss something great if you aren't fully listening.
